It was a Sunday and we wanted to visit the local church. Unfortunately, we woke up late (no thanks to laziness) so we missed the service.
It was a little hike up Namdaemoon Presbyterian Church and we lingered around for a while before heading back to the apartment ‘cos we forgot to bring the camera battery, hahaha…
By the time we were done, it’s near noon and we decided to skip the first itinerary and head straight for lunch.
Along the way, we got distracted by this chicken and well, look who we have here…
Even if you don’t follow Kdramas, you would have seen his face somewhere. Yes, it’s Mr Kim Soohyun from the Stars, this time selling bread. Regardless whether you fancy him, you’d probably wanna give Tous Les Jous a shot ‘cos I tasted their strawberry cream cheese bun and it was absolutely delicious!
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to try their cakes which they’re relatively known for, as the outlet we visited don’t sell them in single portions.
Anyway, here’s our lunch place at Garosugil.
I was unbashedly here courtesy of this bunch of dudes:
Or more accurately, one dude. Sigh.
See, I’m lamentably a noona fangirl to Exo’s main vocalist, Do Kyungsoo.
However, I refused to let myself be embarrassed about the fact that I like a guy an entire zodiac cycle younger than me ‘cos oh boy, can this little one sing.
The popular idol group visited this outlet during one of their episodes in TV variety show, Exo’s Showtime and I wanted to check out the place since it’s supposed to serve decent fares as well.
It turned out I’m not the only one. Check out the list of
fangirls names in queue man…
Despite that, we got in after a 15 mins wait.
It was a pretty cosy atmosphere and service relatively prompt. We ordered the curry ramen and tonkatsu.
The curry ramen tasted like instant noodles soaked in mild curry. Not something I would particularly recommend, but still, the portion is decent and pricing not too bad for a restaurant (I think it was about SG$7 or $8, if my memory served me correctly).School Food: Garosu-gil, Sindang-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (서울 강남구 도산대로 139)
After lunch, we walked around Garosugil.
If you’re in the design field, you’ll probably like Garogusil for their interesting typeface and layout in general.
This was a shoe gallery.
We settled here for tea.
I learnt about Deux Amis from reviews online and came for the much raved Strawberry Tiramisu Tart.
Being a baking lover myself, I appreciate how the cream tastes really fresh and the combination just the right amount of sweet. However, I wouldn’t make all the way to Apgujeong just for the dessert if Garogusil wasn’t already in my itinerary.
The cafe was quite crowded since it’s a weekend, so you might wanna consider take-away if you can’t find a seat.
After filling our stomachs, it’s time for more “star” gazing!
