Homer Simpson mini Donuts!

I was in a mood for some classic donuts.

Borrowed this book called Mini Donuts: 100 bite-sized donut recipes to sweeten your “hole” day from the library, and there’s this Homer Simpson pink sprinkle mini donut recipe in it.


Ain’t they the cutest things?


These are slightly sweeter than the ones I usually bake and it tastes better on the second day. Quite the party-looker if you’re looking to wow some guests! ^^

Homer Simpson Mini Donuts

Yields 24
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
For Icing
  • 1 tbsp whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup icing sugar (I reduced to 1 cup)
  • 2-3 drops red food colouring
For Toppings
  • 60g multicolored sprinkles (I used less than 30g)
  • 1. Preheat oven to 180℃ and grease donut pans
  • 2. In a small bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  • 3. In a medium bowl, whisk together egg and sugar. Then add milk, oil and vanilla extract, mixing until thoroughly combined. Gently stir in flour mixture, stirring until there are no lumps.
  • 4. Fill each donut indentation 3/4 full and bake for 7-9 mins or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean.
  • 5. In a small bowl, whisk together milk and vanilla extract. Add powdered sugar, whisking until smooth. Add red food colouring until you reach desired pink colour.
  • 6. Dip the cooled donut’s top onto the icing and garnish with multicoloured sprinkles.
